Cafe de Boston

It's a colorful space in the Downtown Crossing area filled with young, bright and shiny financial types when it gets quite crowded at lunch and is one of the hidden gems in Boston.  I'd never heard of it, frankly, but when we stopped in at Cafe de Boston we were pleasantly surprised.  With an extensive menu, quick service and freshly-prepared foods the space offers something for everyone.

Starting at the Salad Bar, which features very fresh Mediterranean-inspired fare and meze, we tried the hummus and falafel, both great, as well as a few leafy greens.

The Chicken Alfredo from the Pasta Bar offered up chunks of chicken in a creamy, flavorful sauce, a satisfying lunch for anyone.

And don't forget the desserts!  This Napoleon was both freshly-made and as appealing to the eye as the taste buds.

Cafe De Boston is currently undergoing an expansion where a bakery will be added for even more fresh goodness.  So, if you're in the Financial District/Downtown Crossing area do stop by for a great breakfast or lunch.
