Discovering Local Seafood

We were like kids on a field Trip tonight as I joined fellow bloggers at Red's Best seafood distribution center on Boston Fish Pier as the guests of I Love Blue Sea.  We learned so much during this behind-the-scenes peek but the most amazing thing of all might have been: did you know that conch is caught in Massachusetts?  There wasn't a single food writer there who did not think of conch as strictly a warm water, Caribbean catch.  Apparently it is so popular and profitable that the local fishermen from Hyannis told us there is currently a seafood gold rush going on for it.  In this short video Jared Auerbach talks about the conch and today's catch, which we just saw unloaded off the delivery truck.
