Bestsellers Cafe
After an extensive and lengthy renovation and expansion, we are thrilled that Bestsellers Cafe is back open again and never looking better! This family-owned, independent bookstore and cafe was sorely missed.
In addition to all the books and magazines there are snacks, pastries, coffee, soups and sandwiches. It's a beautiful space and a welcome return to the Medford area. I love this place as it's really all about community and a return to support of the local economy.
There are lots of comfortable corners where you can sit back and relax, curling up with a new book or magaine discovery as you sip a cappuccino. Check out that Frida Kahlo coffee table.
I don't know of another cafe/bookstore with balcony views. The cafe area is very bright and open and lots of special events are planned such as Game Night (Go or Mahjongg anyone?) on Thursdays, Music Night on alternate Fridays and Children's Story Hours on Saturdays. Check the website for details on when these begin.
Rob Dilman (owner) and Matt MacDonald. I was happy to read an article recently saying that as the large bookstore chains are falling the local cafe-bookstores are thriving. It's all about local and it's clear that Booksellers has a lot of community support.
All of the pastries at Booksellers are baked on the premises. Monday through Friday they open at 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM and weekends 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. With three new restaurants and now Bestsellers I can't believe how much Medford Square is growing.

And, of course, it does not hurt that my novel is on the shelves. We're talking about an upcoming reading and book-signing as well. In the meantime, I'll be at the corner table writing and enjoying the view from my satellite office! See you at Bestsellers Cafe.
