A Night Of Sports Legends With Cheeseboy

Bruin Mike Krushelynski, TBF, Bruin Rick Middleton and Michael Inwald, Cheeseboy founder.

It was a great night of sports legends, friends, lots of food, beer and wine last week as we joined Michael Inwald to celebrate the opening of the fourth Cheeseboy at the Prudential Center and raise over $6,000 for The Hole In The Wall Camps. The NHL and NBA were both represented. As a kid growing up in New England you can imagine how big hockey was in our home (yes, I played hockey, believe it or not) so it was particularly thrilling for me to hear the stories of the game played back in the day. I could have listened all night about how it was to play on the line with Wayne Gretzky or how to warn a ref about a dirty player that you just dirtied the hell out of a minute ago when that same ref wasn't looking. This was a time before teenage megamillionaire sports celebrities, entourages, and a team of lawyers who monitor your endorsement deals.

TBF and Celtics Great Cedric Maxwell.

We saw Cedric Maxwell jam with the band and even met a woman who attended a Hole In The Wall Camp and spoke so eloquently about this organization founded by Paul Newman for children with serious and terminal illnesses. And, yes, hearing the stories about these kids forgetting that they are sick for the first time in their lives because they are having so much fun made me teary-eyed. Congratulations Michael, who is actually spending this week volunteering at a camp himself.

Lisa and Michael talking about how she fought going away to camp and how it changed her life.

Special thanks to Hilary Allard and The Castle Group for inviting us to this event.
