The Blue Room

Appetizer of Duck Breast and Citrus Sections.

We recently dined at The Blue Room in Kendall Square, an oft-overlooked gem that we haven't ventured into for years now. Shame on us! It's really a great spot in the heart of technology central in Cambridge. The menu changes quite often due to their dedication to excellent sourcing but everything, literally, we tasted was beautifully done. If you are in the mood for rustic, Mediterranean fare, comforting and simply prepared in a funky setting, you can't go wrong here.

The Antipasto Plate with Crisped Flatbread. I am used to seeing more cheeses on an antipasto salad but this was perfectly acceptable.

I ordered the Crystal Valley Chicken with Swiss Chard, Fried Capers and Garlic Mashed Potato. Perfectly done and beautifully herbed, moist and flavorful.

Flank Steak with Fingerling Potato.

This Pesto Risotto we shared was excellent.

Berry Crisp. The desserts we all shared were amazingly good.

Creme Fraiche Cheesecake.
