This is not your average sandwich shop. the All Star Sandwich Bar in Inman Square, Cambridge, prepares all of it's food from scratch and roasts all of the meats in-house and, believe me, it really makes a difference. Then there are all of the inventive combinations, a few of which we happened to taste on a recent visit as a guest of the owners.
One of the side dishes we tasted was this amazing Veggie Side. It's root vegetable au gratin with celery root, parsnip, Yukon gold potato, béchamel sauce, goat cheese, Fontina, caramelized onions and Parmesan. The root vegetables went very well with the creamy, cheesy sauce.

The Atomic Meatloaf Meltdown features grilled meatloaf (half of which is sweet Italian sausage), Jack cheese, "Inner Beauty" hot sauce, and red onion jam on sourdough bread. Rich, hot but not too hot and filling. All of the sandwiches are served on Iggy's breads.
The Roast Beef sandwich features Gruyére, caramelized onions and an au jus dipping sauce. Not to be missed, this was a personal favorite.
I also sampled a grilled falafel burger with tahini sauce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and sprouts on grilled whole wheat. Fabulous vegetarian fare. Needless to say you won't get a better, freshly-made sandwich with the very best quality ingredients in town. Highly recommended.
