A Drink At Clink
The Liberty Hotel in Boston, home of Clink.
The Liberty Hotel has quite a history. It's actually the former Charles Street Jail. After millions in renovations, however, it's become one of the hottest properties in Boston and the home of Clink, which is currently the restaurant where the social set go to see and be seen. I suppose it doesn't hurt that all of those movie stars stay here during the local film shoots, which are so plentiful these days that we've been dubbed Hollywood East (see our past posts).
So, this being the festive time of year we wanted to bring you a drink recipe to welcome in the New Year. Here is the specialty cocktail featured at Clink:
French Kiss
3 oz. Grey Goose La Poire
1 oz. Massenez cassis
1 oz. pineapple juice
float Veuve Clicquot
Shake vodka, cassis and pineapple juice together over ice then strain into martini glass. Top with Veuve Clicquot and garnish with a cherry.
Happy New Year and don't go spending the night in any other clink!

These clinks get everywhere! Ours is in Southwark, just yards from the famous Borough Market. It's also supposedly the origin of the term clink for a prison.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you.
