Dessert Number One

In our continued effort to create a series of simple amuse bouche ideas that anyone can attempt to produce and serve to guests, we came upon some combinations of ingredients that really struck us as being more along the lines of desserts. Voila. Necessity is the mother of invention. Therefore, we have decided to add to the line of amuse bouce these desserts. Here is our Dessert Number One: tiny ice cream sandwiches with wild Maine blueberry fruit sauce.

We used vanilla bean frozen yogurt and chidori crackers. The crackers are Asian in origin and of the same texture and flavor as what most would consider the typical fortune cookie from take-out orders. They can be found in the international aisle at your grocer or, if not there, at any Asian specialty grocer.

Creamy, crunchy, sweet with a hint of tart blueberry, best served on a small plate or, in this case, a mini martini glass.
