It seems that Mario Batali bumped into Gwyneth Paltrow at a recent dinner party and started bragging about an upcoming trip to Spain where he was going to roam all over and eat his way through the countryside. Paltrow was so enthused at their common bond (her father is Spanish and Batali spent time in his youth living in Spain) that she decided to invite herself along. They then invited two others and a camera crew to join them! The result is the new PBS series: "Spain ... On The Road Again."
The unlikely road trip ensemble consists of Paltrow, New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman, acclaimed American chef Mario Batali and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols.
Paltrow even abandoned her vegetarian ways to partake in all of the exciting tastes and dinners.
Not so much a cooking show as an incredible video display case for the beauty and the food of Spain, it's like being invited along by friends on an impromptu road trip, a real foodie delight. The series has just begun so check your listings and don't miss an episode, featuring famous foodies, chefs and artisinal craftsmen all over Spain.
