Earl Of Sandwich

On these cool, breezy late Summer nights what is better than dining alfresco?  We recently decided to head to Boston Common to enjoy the evening for a snack, some people watching and just to enjoy the atmosphere.  And if you're going there the options are limited.  The only place to grab something to eat is Earl Of Sandwich.

It was a picture perfect night.  As the sun set, the ball fields and tennis courts may have been busy but the crowds were surprisingly thin.  We virtually had the place to ourselves as international visitors strolled by taking photos.

We noshed on sandwiches and sides such as this surprisingly good Macaroni and Cheese.  I went with the Holiday Turkey hot sandwich: turkey, stuffing, gravy and cranberry.  Perhaps not a typical summer treat but I'm thinking that that was exactly why I enjoyed it so much.

The Thai Chicken Wrap was also a spicy/sweet roll with romaine, Chinese cabbage and Thai Peanut Dressing.

For dessert it was fresh-baked cookies such as Oatmeal Raisin and the popular Triple Chocolate Brownies made with Ghiradelli chocolate, a particular favorite of mine.

And, of course, this was all washed down with large glasses of their signature Earl Grey lemonade.

If you have not enjoyed an evening on the Common in awhile we'd totally recommend stopping by.  They also serve breakfast and lunch and the service was quick and efficient.  Great spot for a casual spot to have a bite and enjoy a little time in the City at what is one of the most beautiful times of the year.
