Spoonful Of Ginger 2012

It was Spoonful Of Ginger 2012, benefitting the Asian-American Diabetes Initiative of the Joslin Diabetes Center, and set in the sweeping Art Of The Americas wing of the Museum Of Fine Arts for us recently. The Asian community is twice as likely to develop diabetes than any other and they are fervently working to research and discover exactly why. This event helps raise funds for that research while providing attendees with lots of information and an enormous amount of elegant food. I have a history of diabetes of both sides of my family and know well of the debilitating effects so this one is not only a very worthy cause to me but also quite the impressive event I look forward to every year.

Chefs Jasper White (Founding Chef), Gordon Hammersley and Andy Husbands chatting before the event.

From Stella and Chef Evan Deluty: Salmon Tartare, Wasabi Vinaigrette, Soy Ginger Glaze and Crispy Wonons.

Chef Gordon Hammersley whipping up his Spicy Shrimp with Spring Vegetable Couscous and Basil Vinaigrette.

The colorful, delicious sushi from Basho Japanese Brasserie.

The bites and tastes of beautifully presented Asian tatstes were endless.

I wouldn't think of attending this event without friend Christian Sann of LevelUp who always manages to be the best-dressed man of the night.
