Kingston Station

We stopped in at Kingston Station in Downtown Crossing recently and we absolutely love this space.


It has a retro feel and look and the atmosphere of a European bistro, with hearty, well-done food.


The long bar is a popular spot at night where, on Fridays and Saturdays from 9PM-Midnight you can enjoy live jazz music. Dinner is served from 5PM-10PM, making it an ideal pre-theater choice, as well, as it fringes the Theater District.


We, however, were one of the first to try out their new breakfast menu. I can't tell you how often we are asked by international visitors staying in the Financial/Downtown area to recommend a great breakfast spot. Well, now we have one.


We went with the quiche.


Filled with Portobello and Shitake Mushrooms, Fingerling Potato, Gruyere Cheese and Truffle Oil, it was delicious. The quiche is served with a fresh salad drizzled with an excellent balsamic vinaigrette. I love salad with quiche and an iced tea for breakfast on a warm day.





The cheesy filling was just right, the crust perfect. They also make their very own croissants, fresh, on premises every morning. The breakfast menu is evolving as they have just begun and is limited, for now, to a few, select, dishes, all of which sounded great.
