Back Bay Social Club With The Insiders

Although I was running late due to an earlier event I did manage to make it to the Citysearch Boston Insiders Meetup at the Back Bay Social Club this week. This was the first meeting held since I was invited to join the Insiders group and was glad to see my friends Lingbo, Michelle and Rich, as well as meeting some new friends and fellow bloggers such as Brian from A Thought For Food. We follow his interesting tweets all the time.

The Meat Candy included Smoked Kielbasa and Pineapple in a Brandy Brown Sugar Coating. How 1960s!

Although I missed a few dishes, I thoroughly enjoyed my Dogfish 60 Minute IPA in the comfy, spacious surroundings which have a very retro vibe and are quite different from the Vinny T's, which formerly occupied the space.

The Cheese Board included an excellent Great Hill Blue, Capri Goat Cheese, also very good, and a Vermont Cheddar.

Mushroom and Pork Terrine. As terrines go, it was okay.

One thing I think we all agreed upon was that the desserts are all quite good so make sure you indulge in at least one of these during your visit. I'd suggest you order with a dining companion and share. They are that good.

Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Beignets with Chocolate Sauce.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Chocolate Ganache Cake.

Phyllo wrapped apples with caramel sauce.
